  1. describe the concept of “stress at a point” (state of stress and strain in 3D)
  2. analyze the transformation of stress and strain in 3D including the utilization of yield criteria
  3. apply the knowledge to design the mechanical structures in the view point of both strength and deformation including the design by means of numerical simulation
