TARGET
Modeling of linear and nonlinear vehicle behavior regarding handling (lateral behavior) and comfort (vertical behavior), emphasizing: tires, driver, passenger cars, racing cars, articulated vehicles and motorcycle

CONTENTS

The course covers the following topics:
The student is able to analyze, synthesize and evaluate:
linear and nonlinear tire behavior and models, including main influences like load transfer, combined slip, camber, suspension characteristic
steady state vehicle handling performance based on the single track vehicle model including nonlinear tire models.
(AVD WE1)

The student is able to analyze, synthesize and evaluate:
steady state and dynamic behavior of passenger vehicles, articulated vehicles and motorcycles
closed-loop driver vehicle system behavior and modeling with the preview driver model. (AVD WE2)

Dimensions of assessment:

• Knowledge and understanding (analyzing and defining problems)
